And Thus Began the Reign of President Mella!

So we have a new mission president. I know nothing. We meet him tomorrow though! so that should be good! Maybe I can beg him to let me stay in Monterey. we will see :)

So on to this week! 

Monday- Pday- we went to the beach. shocking. haha but i went and found this beach in pebble beach. it was really nice! I know all the secret places now. you should all be jealous. haha FHE was great fun, i got to go in the attic in the church. that was cool. haha 

Tuesday- The demise of the week. haha no, we had this awesome district meeting and I got all pumped up to go be an amazing missionary and be bold and etc and then the rest of the week went very badly. haha Ill get to that in a minute though. So the rest of tuesday was good, we had volleyball with the ysa at carmel beach so that was a blast! also the elders gave us this musical by micheal mclean called the garden. We might have listened to if for like 3 day straight. and pretty much just 2 songs. hahaha I miss musicals!!! also its quite good!

Wednesday- So this is our day that is usually pack ful of lessons. until this week. everything cancelled. even our dinner. and our dinner for thursday. This is where the lord decided to test my patience. Would I still be pumped up for missionary work even if all my appointments cancelled? Well after I downed a box of goobers in about 30 seconds I pulled myselft together and got back to work. :) But we did get to go to a ysa activity called "babes in the bible" pretty much the study a lady in the bible. this time was Eve. it was really good! 

Thursday- it was better. we still had some things fall through but we were able to have some street contact lessons which are always fun! 

Friday-Oh we saw Chelsey again! she was so fun! yeah friday was good. 

Saturday- also good! we got to help a lady named michelle decorate her house. I love service. haha 

we also met this girl while contacting and all of a sudden this guy comes up and starts bashing religion and telling us how we should live and the girl starts defending us. it was sweet. hahaha 

Then sunday came. and ya know what? Patience and faith pays off. we had clearly not had the most successful week so on sunday we needed to have a quite a few lessons to hit our goals. now when you are in church frorm 10 to 5 that can be hard. but God answers prays people! we had all of the lessons we needed by 630. it was great. haha and we met this amazing man on the street that was so humble and he loved  god and when we talked about the book of mormon he started to cry and it was awesome the only downside is that he doesnt live in my area. DANG IT! haha oh well the elders over there are good too. haha

WEll that was my week! transfer calls are on saturday so i shall now my fate on monday. pray i stay in monterey! or go where the lord needs me. :)

Hola!

Hello! So first I might have sent the wrong recording last week. Oh well. Any who on to this week! 

This week was actually quite a blur... let me see if I remember any of it.. haha

Monday- We tie dyed shirts! it was great fun! I love tie Dye! Ill send pics of the final piece next week :) also we had fhe with the ysa ward. that was fun. 

Tuesday-District mtg was great as always... then we got to see Cheryl, shes the best! Especially when she gives us chocolate. haha 

Wednesday- We got to see Ashley, that was fun. We taught her and she taught us how to play the guitar. Then I played her piano. I need to practice. a lot. Mom can I take the piano to Cedar city when I get home? :) But I am liking this idea of learning how to play a guitar! Too bad I fail at it. haha WE also saw Carla, she fed us lunch, it was great fun! and also Young Oak and Thomas and Jason and they were just so happy it was great to see them! I love how the gospel can change lives! Oh and we saw Destry and Keliah, Destry's family is coming to town and Keliah was like "we need a picture of christ, not just the temple." So we got them a picture of christ from our apartment. haha It was great. 

Thursday- It was one of the elders birthdays. Now he refused to tell us when his bday was but you see there was no way I was going to let it pass without celebrating it. So I am sneaky and found out his bday and then we had his dinner throw him a party. hahaha Im so mean. But I dont really care. hahaha We also had some good  lessons that day, like our lesson with Sam! He is so great. We taught him about prayer and he is already a pro at it. He kept talking about how its a personal relationship and we were like, well this was a good lesson lets go home. haha 

Friday-We saw Alexia. She is still hilarious! we also saw carla, a ysa. I love her. She is doing so good! she has started to come to church again and is loving it and she is hilarious. its great!

Saturday- I had 3 breakfasts. My stomach can only handle one. no... more... food... please... Oh well it was all good! so we went and saw some of the elderly ladies in our ward, they are so cute! and the stories they have! this one lady was in germany when the berlin wall fell. umm thats cool. we also had our church history movie night and a new less active girl that we found but had lost touch with came so that was a lot of fun! and we watched the joseph smith movie and she wanted to borrow it and take it home to her non member boyfriend. SCORE!

Sunday- Church. and more church. and more church. 

Well that was my week. On to another one! I am looking at a possible and probable transfer in 2 weeks. I want to cry. But I will continue on! But if you all want to pray that I stay in monterey thats fine with me. Might not be appropriate but hey... haha

I totally have way to much makeup on. Im not sure I like it... also no worries I havent changed a bit! I still love my crazy pjs and my iron man shirt. also it glows in the dark. be jealous. :)

6 Months!

Now say "6 Months" in the voice that Davy Jones tells Jack that he has 3 days till he comes back for him. Good job everyone! haha

So everyone I hit my year mark. We can all pass out now. But really can we? I am really tired. :)

So lets go over the week!

Monday- We went to the beach. anyone surprised about that one? We also played soccer. I might have a huge bruise on my foot from kicking the ball. And maybe from kicking some other people... playing soccer in the sand is quite fun. you slide into things. or people. My bad. BUT I totally had an elder kick the ball down to me and I headed it to another elder and he kicked it into the goal. LIFE GOAL ACCOMPLISHED! Next life goal is to just head it into the goal. haha

Oh and then we had dinner at the Irish family. they have 3 little kids and since we cant watch frozen the prepared scenes that they could act out for us. Who needs the movie when you have three kids that will act it out for you??? It was adorable!

Tuesday... was good, we had dinner with President lemmon and his wife. they are in our ward and also in the mission presidency. I love them. They hilarious! 

Wednesday- We went to R.G. Burgers with a ysa and got shakes to celebrate her being done with class she had to take. That place is good! and it was so fun to be with her!  We also saw mary that night, that was fun! 

Thursday- MY 1 YEAR MARK!!! Funny so far I have been able to say oh a year ago I was at home doing... now its like. a year ago I was in the mtc. soon it will be a year ago I was in dublin. then before you know it I will be home. YIKES! sorry everyone, I love you and all but California is growing on me... that might change though here in  a couple weeks when I get transfered out of monterey. haha so we had a solid day planned for thursday! lots of wonderful lessons and then it all fell through. Seriously everyone cancelled. But we just went for all of our back up plans and saw some random people we had never met and it was great! The best part of the day though was seeing this kid named jesse. We just saw him at the end of the day but it was his birthday so we wanted to tell him happy birthday! He is from Utah but came out here a few months ago to work. Somehow the elders found him and brought him to church. he hadn't gone to church for about 3 years so they started bringing him to everything. When he went back to utah a while ago, he was active and starting his mission papers. He is now out here for a couple of weeks again and his call should be waiting for him at home. I LOVE THIS GOSPEL!!! it was so cool to see how he has changed. His sister is on a mission in milan and his other sister got her mission call a couple of weeks ago and now he will get his. Life rocks. anywho I made it a year!!! 

Friday- I celebrated my year by making my favorite dinner. Lets go back to my growing up years... Sundays dinners... "Mom can we have chicken and mashed potatoes and white gravy?" Yep my favorite dinner. Then I went to college. I htought about learning how to make it but lets face it, that was too much effort. so I just had mom cook it when I came home. Then I went on a mission. and that dang meal haunted me.... I thought about making it back in dublin but then I decided against it since our kitchen situation wasnt the best. but then I got a kitchen. and every sunday I sit in church and I can SMELL the food cooking. So I finally got brave enough to try it. it turned out pretty good. needed more pepper but hey other than that! But mother dont htink this is getting you out of making it when I come home... :)

Saturday- it was great... we met a guy from egypt... day made.. haha and then we went to dinner with Mary! It was sister smiths (my comp) sisters wedding day on saturday so mary signed up to take us out to dinner so we all got dressed up all fancy and went to dinner! at a totally causal place. But it was still fun! Well I am now out time so I have to go, sunday was great, happy fathers day to all of you fathers and I will talk to you all next week!

But I dont speak Spanish...

So do you all remember how I really wanted to go spanish speaking? and how I was quite upset about not learning a language? Yes well God Bless the USA and the english language. Its the best. Dont get me wrong I still want to learn spanish just not right now. hahaha so lets go through the week!

Monday- We went to .... the beach! hahaha actually we only spent like an hour there. we really went to this place called palo colorado and went hiking. it was good fun! Then we had a lesson with a new ysa we met named anya! she is really cute i am excited to get to work with her! she is mbr but less active and her boyfriend is not a mbr so we are going to teach him as well! yay!

Tuesday. Exchanges. I went over to the seaside area for a day. With a spanish sister. Umm I learned how to become a mute quite well. We would have lessons and I would just sit there and smile and look dumb. ITs was fun! and then every now and then I would catch different phrases that I knew. but the best part is when my comp for the day was teaching the restoration to a guy and i of course had no idea what was happening and hten I saw the mans face change and I looked at my comp and started to listen and realized she was saying the first vision and I was like WOW! The spirirt rocks! ususally when we teach I am too caught up in teaching to notice every little thing so when I had no idea what to say I just got to observe and it was a really neat experience. 

Wednesday- Back to english! yay!!! we did some service... nothing to exciting... 

Thursday- We had interviews with president! it was great! I got to ask him a bunch of questions and then tell him that I will be coming to hawaii to stay with him. hahaha WE also had a bunch of amazing lessons that day so that was really cool too!

friday- We have a new investigator named Chelsey, she is adorable! her husband is a less active member and she wants to learn more about the church and she came to church on sunday and told everyone that she would see them next week. SCORE! 

Saturday- We went shopping... in salinas.. at new york in company.. with money president had given us.... i got a cute skirt... i have the best mission in the world.... 

THERE WAS ALSO A CHARMING CHALIRES!!!! I totally ahve to go back. 

then we did some service! 

Sunday- I had to speak. I hate speaking. I thought that when I became a missionary i would stop the whole I hate speaking in church run. It didnt work. Im still terrified. OH well! hey I have 6 more months maybe things will change!

JUNE?????

So If you would all like to journey back to a year ago with me... it was june 2nd, I was in Georgia playing with my wonderful nieces and nephew... enjoying the warm weather...and ignoring the fact that I was going on a mission in a week. haha So Now lets get back to the present. WHEN ON EARTH DID IT BECOME JUNE AGAIN???? How has it almost been a year??? WHAT? NO WAY!!! Time flies when you are having fun! or at least when you are in Monterey! haha 

So my computer keeps freezing on me so if this email is quite short, my apologies. 

So lets get down to the import item of the week! I went to the beach! 

Just kidding thats not the important part!! hahaha The important part is that Destry got Baptized!!!!!! WAHOO!!!!

It rocks. It was so cute! he was so cute and his wife Keliah was so cute!!! and they were so happy!! and Keliah cried!!! and I wanted to die. hahaha Keliah's brother came from Utah and baptized him and it was just amazing! I love baptisms. This gospel just rocks people! 

As for the rest of the week it was good! We had some great lessons, we saw our investigator sam again, its so funny half the ysa ward and family ward want to come to our lessons with him. Okay everyone calm down we can all take turns coming to see Sam! you would think he was famous. (I dont htink he is famous..haha) 

Yeah so I cant think of anything else good that happened this week. Okay thats a lie I can but I better get this email sent before this computer freezes again so I love you all! enjoy school being out if it is already out or about to be!!!
