The Mystery of the Missing Granola Bars

Hi everyone! Well to start this will most likely be a boring email. Sorry no baptisms to report on this week. hahaha give me a couple weeks though and things will be exciting again! 

So monday was great we went to the beach. shocking I know. but we flew kites this time! it was so fun! I totally acted like I was 5! and then I got brave and decided to do a cart wheel. or like 10 of them. I regreted that life choice the next day when I was quite sore. 

But at FHE we had a scavenger hunt and then we taught a bunch of lessons. Tuesday was great, we saw Mary! she is awesome. :) Wendesday was good..thursday was good... oh we saw Destry! he was so funny. we asked him about baptism and he was like well I have to figure out who would baptize me. I was like hold on, who? what about when? hahaha he is so funny. so the when should be coming shortly. :) Friday we saw the Mabini's! they are so cute! On saturday we got to help set up for mormon prom. ITs prom put on by the churhc so that the dance is clean. It was hollywood themed. It was soooo cool!!! I totally wanted to go to prom again! hahaha that and they had a legit acadamy award there. I held it dont worry. also those things are really heavy! Then onto Sunday! so Taylor's roomate Sanam came to church with her friend barnes and we were talking to them but then barnes had questions so next thing you know we have mary and sanam teaching barnes about the church. Sweet! our recent convert and our investigator our just layind down the restoration for us. hahaha love them! and then we had dinner and then we went to scripture studay and talked with Taylor tamacori and it was a great night! Oh but now for the explanation of the title of this email... so sunbelt granola bars? they are really good. and no where to be found here in cali. I can get everything but them. So we were at dinner with this awesome family named the knoops and I noticed that their daughter had a sunbelt granola bar. so I asked them where they bought them. and sis knoop asked if I liked them and I of course said yes and then she told me how she cant find them anywhere in cali except at the military comensary. which of course does me no good. hahaha But hey I had the mystery solved! but then yesterday at church she said she had a present for me and pulled out a box of granola bars! it was awesome!!! she rocks. so yes that was my week, I hope you all enjoy your week and I will talk to you next week!

Easter Weekend!

1st there will be 2 recordings again. So many exciting things to talk about! 

Monday- Pday. We went to point lobos in carmel. BEAUTIFUL!!!  and then for FHE we had a snowball fight with the ysa. You take flour and put it in nylons and then throw it at each other. you should see the church parking lot. it looks like a battlefield. hahaha

Tuesday- Transfer Day! good thing neither of us got transfered! Though pretty much everyone else did. hahaha In the big new of transfers we now have Elder Sonenstalh in our ysa ward with Elder Hardy (elder mcintyre got transfered) and then Elder Black who served with me in Pleasanton is my new ZL! So this should be fun! except that Elder Sonesntalh and hardy are pretty much the same person and I have a feelling we will be babysitting them. me on the phone " elders, what are you doing... you have another orange dont you??" them "laughing and no...." me-"Elders do not roll that orange down that hill!!!" So you know its bad when even the mission president walks up to them and says "whose Idea was this? this is an accident waiting to happen!" hahaha so this should be a fun trnasfer! also we had a lesson with Mary! she is awesome! except that her friend taylor has taught her everything so now we just review. Oh well!!! more fun! hahaha 

Wednesday- Really busy day, full of lessons and life. 

Thursday- We saw Nael again! he is the guy from Jordan. He rocks. I am learing Arabic from him. And I am just confusing him more when it comes to english. Note to self... saying illusion to someone who barely speaks english is not a good idea. 

Friday-this day rocked!! so we helped a lady named Michelle with moving. she isnt a member but works at a place that we do service. Anywho its grreat. She already has our guest rooms ready for us when we come back to visit. So... ill be in carmel for a while family... sorry :)

Then she took us out to dinner that night at this place called Demetras. its awesome. ITs mediteranian food and so much fun!!! I will also be going back there. 

Sautrday-BAPTISM DAY!!! so Nichelle and Naomi Mabini got baptized!!! it was soo fun!!! they were so cute and excited!! and Sister Neff and sister Stegelmieyer who also served here got to come back for it! it was so much fun!!! The girls were glowing and Naomi was like "I felt the spirit!" Love it. then that night we had a movie night wiht the missionaries and watched Mtn of the Lord. Mary and Taylor slept. So the missionaries watched Mtn of the lord. hahaha oh well! 

Sunday was Easter! So good. Love this holiday! Church was awesome, Mary Sang and did wonderfully and then we had dinner in Carmel and then off to scripture study where we talked with Taylor Tamacori and being a missionary rocks. 

So the cool thing is that on youtube the church bought the ad space and put up this video called "because of him" anywho if you havent seen it, go watch it, its really good!

But they were saying in relief society that there was a girl that was hastaging everything with because of him and I thought about how cool that was! 

So I never really bare my testimony in these emails so I will now proceed to do that somewhat. :)

Easter is so amazing! we get to celebrate the life of our savior and the fact that he lives today. as I have been on a mission I have seen people change everything because they have gained that relationship with our savior and I cant even begin to tell you how blessed I have been to witness them grow closer to him. But even more I have seen how blessed I have been to grow up knowing that the savior has always been there for me. Because of him I can do anything. Because of him I am now helping others feel of his love, because of him I can continue through this life and one day return to my father in heaven. and Because of him I will live again. because of him I know this church is true.

The Adventure of a life time

So this week was good! 

Where to start... 

Well Mary is amazing. as in she is totally getting baptized. as in she got baptized last night, Thats right MARY IS A MEMBER!!!! 

So now lets talk about this week. so we saw her tuesday and she was great. then thursday she taught institute but was getting a little overwhelmed with all the church stuff and some things from her past were coming back. Let me tell you all that the devil sucks. He was attacking her hard core. So then friday we were texting her and all was fine and then that evening we got a text from her saying that she was done and couldnt do it anymore. so we got Taylor Tamacori to get us on base and into Mary's room where we calmed her down and then got her to get out of her room. So she came to the temple with us on saturday and was okay but pretty much trying to ignore all of her emotions. So then sunday came. We were supposed to be going to the Outgoing fireside with her and it was her bday. so we gave her a present and then sent her off to sunday school while we went to our other ward. then we left the m2 ward and went to the ysa linger longer. and after about 2 mintues elder mcintyre walks in and says so I need to talk to you two. then he says mary might be getting baptized today. WHAT? so then Im like this is a joke. then Taylor Johnson who is mary's good friend walks in and motions for us to come over. Yep not a joke. So I guess Mary started to panic after sunday school and that she asked taylor Johnson about priesthood blessings so after a good while elder hardy gave taylor johnson a blessing so show mary how is went and then after more convincing Taylor Johnson gave her a blessing and then Elder HArdy was joking and said you could get baptized today if you wanted. And she said "really? okay." so then she had a baptismal interview and next thing you know we are planning a baptism for 3 hours later. Sorry looks like I wont be going to the outgoing our investigator who was going to take us is now getting baptized. hahaha It was so good!!! the baptism was amazing! she was so happy!!! oh!! I cant wait for the adventures that will come!!! This church is so true.

So that was the story of Mary. More stories to come I am sure. hahaha That morning we had been tlaking to the relief society president and she was saying how many of the girls were leaving the ward in the next couple months and how we needed more. So then she was like I have faith that we will get more. So I went up to her later and was like so we got you another sister! hahaha I love life.

So we also got to go to the temple. it was great. I loved it. Wish I could go back! we also stopped in pleasanton for lunch so I was excited about that as well. :)

WEll the best part is now next saturday we have another baptism for the mabini girls! Cant wait for another week!

General Conference!

So this week was good! first lets start with my comp Sis Smith, so I made a discovery about her. She watches Castle. No one watches Castle!! I might have jumped up for joy. hahaha Finally someone who understands me! not that I play favorites when it comes to comps but man, celine dion, bahama breeze, charming charlies.. and now castle? she is getting up there on the favorites. hahaha Not that I spend all my time talking about castle... hahaha So back to missionary work!

Monday was great. It rained really hard. not a fan of rain. haha

Tuesday was really good! we got to see Cheryl, finally, she has cancelled on us the past couple of weeks! I love her lessons. she act like our second mom and everytime we come over i get cold so she went a bought a new blanket that I can use whenever I go over. its awesome. haha We also got to see our amazing YSA investigator Mary! - who now reads my blog so Hi Mary :) haha It was a great lesson! and then we played volleyball with the YSA which is always an adventure. 

Wednesday was good, we also got to see our ysa Ashley who we havent seen in a while. we might have played les mis music on her piano for a minute.. :) it rocked. haha but she is so amazing! We actaully saw her 3 times this week. always good! and Then we had an appointment with our investigator Thomas! he is 10 and we set a baptismal date for him! So excited!  its on May 10th so it should be fun!

Thursday was good. we had a lesson with some possibly crazy people... I love being a missionary.. hahaha And then we had a lesson with our family ward investigator Sam. He is amazing. He was talking about reading the book of mormon and how he likes to pray before he reads it and read it with the holy ghost. Yes feel free to do that. please! haha

friday we saw Destry and Keliah! They rock, Destry didnt want to go to preisthood session of conference and keliah was like well then you are going to be home alone because Im having a girls night with another girl in the ward. hahaha So I am pretty sure he went :)

Now on to Saturday and sunday! CONFERENCE!!! its the best. Especially when you are a missionary. I mean I get to watch tv. haha Just kidding we get to listen to the prophet! Saturday we watched it at the Rehaks, they live in carmel. Rough life. and then we had lunch there and taught some of our YSA's. its great when they are all in the same location and arent going anywhere. haha then After the afternoon session we went to the Leach's who live in pebble beach for dinner. once again I know i have such a rough life. haha then I actaully went and did missionary work. haha

Sunday was good as well, we watched the morning session at a familys house  in our family ward and had breakfast with them. Then off to do some contacting in which we met a couple who pretty much bashed on our beliefs and told us that we are not all children of God. Mmm K you keep believe that buddy and Im going to go watch General Conference. haha The best is when they told us that we needed to take a step back from the religion and read the word of god and decided what we really believed. Ummm Im on a mission, 1st i read the world of God for quite a few hours a day and im pretty sure I know that my religion is true or else I wouldn't be here... haha I love people! they said a prayer for us so thats always nice. they also prayed for our future. husbands... that was weird. haha

Then to conference and then to some more lessons and then back to the leachs for scripture study and some smores... I love my mission. :) 

also conference was amazing, I loved Uchtdorfs talk and Stevensons. I also like his name. :)
